Most social responsibility initiatives end up in a sustainability report and nowhere else. A mini-forest stays on the ground, grows, and keeps bringing people back. Lisnave has been a partner since 2022, with two islands inside the shipyard, planted as a teambuilding activity with its employees. The company's support has also reached schools in Setúbal, with the island at Escola Sebastião da Gama and, on a smaller scale, the next island at Escola Sant'Lago in November.
Capgemini and Brisa joined forces to turn an unused corner of the A5 service area in Oeiras into a forest of 175 trees and shrubs, with 90 volunteers from both companies and from Colégio da Torre planting side by side in a single day.
Two ways to take part: plant your own island, in your own space, with your own people; or sponsor a school's island, as Lisnave did. Most schools have no budget of their own for a mini-forest, and a company's sponsorship is often what makes the project possible, tying your name to sustainability and to the environmental education of a real community.
